About the speaker: Asad Khan
Asad Khan is a Digital Technology Adviser with the Bank for International Settlements. Working for the Innovation Hub in Hong Kong, Asad is responsible for developing and leading applied research projects in new technologies and critical focus areas within financial markets. In close partnership with regional institutions and partners in the market, the BIS Innovation Hub serves as the innovation engine for central banking. Within his scope of work includes central bank digital currencies, digital assets, and decentralized technologies such as blockchain and distributed ledgers.
A software engineer by background, Asad started his journey into the innovation space as a member of Accenture’s global Innovation Practice within their Blockchain and Multiparty Systems group. He has worked with clients across industries, in North America and Asia, to build proof-of-concept and production systems, lead engineering teams, and guide the development and implementation of effective tech innovation strategies.
